  • April 8-11

    A Goodwill donation drop-off trailer will be at the O’Neill Community Center from Tuesday, April 8th through Friday, April 11th. The trailer will arrive at the O’Neill Community Center after 12:00 p.m. noon on Tuesday and will be picked up by noon on Friday. Donations of clothing, shoes, and household items will be accepted.

    The community center is located at 501 South 4th Street in O’Neill, NE.

  • April 8-20

    The Bon Homme Community Choir will perform an Easter Cantata on Tuesday, April 8th at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Tyndall; Sunday, April 13th at the First Baptist Church in Avon; Tuesday, April 15th at St. John's Catholic Church in Wagner and on Easter Sunday, April 20th at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Springfield. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

  • April 11

    The New Hope Youth Group is having a fundraiser at the KC hall in Atkinson on Friday, April 11th. A free-will donation meal will be served from 5 until 8 p.m. The menu includes smothered steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, homemade dinner rolls, potato soup and desserts. A silent and live auction will take place. One of the items to be auctioned is a 6.5 Creedmoor Howa rifle. Other items for the live auction include six hours of tree shearing to be used this fall and a custom-made knife and sheath made by Scott Johnson. Proceeds from this event will help the youth group to go on a trip in May. If you have any questions, or would like to donate an auction item, you may call to Scot or Jule Iverson 402-760-2974.

  • April 12

    A “God, Mom, and Me” Tea event will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 10:00 until 11:30 AM at Calvary Baptist Church in Yankton, South Dakota. With the theme ‘A Heart Like His’, this will be a special time for mothers (or mother figures) and daughters, ages 9 to 13 to focus on the joy of womanhood, the beauty of God’s design, and the greatness of His timing for development.   • Holy Week (April 13, 16, 19)

    ‘On My Cross: A Celebration of the Resurrection’ is coming to First Southern Baptist Church in Gregory, SD during Holy Week. This presentation will be given at the church on Palm Sunday, April 13th, Wednesday, April 16th, and Holy Saturday, April 19th at 7:00 p.m. each evening. Tickets are free and available by calling Pastor Burton at 480-993-7535.

    First Southern Baptist Church is located at 320 Church Street in Gregory, SD.

  • Holy Week (April 13-20)

    Bethany Presbyterian Church of rural Ewing and First Presbyterian Church in O’Neill welcome you to worship with them at their services during Holy Week. The Palm Sunday services will take place at 9:00 a.m. at Bethany and at 11:00 a.m. in O’Neill. The Maundy Thursday service takes place at 6:30 in O’Neill, with an evening meal to follow. The Good Friday service will be at 7:00 p.m. at Bethany, and their two Easter Sunday services will be at 9:00 a.m. at Bethany and at 11:00 a.m. in O’Neill.

    Bethany Presbyterian Church is located at 85179 494th Avenue in rural Ewing (about 20 miles southwest of Ewing or 21 miles south of O’Neill), and First Presbyterian Church can be found at 204 East Everett Street in O’Neill, Nebraska.

  • April 15

    The Yankton Area Women's Connection group will hold their next dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15th at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton. Brenda Vermeire will share how she has found new fulfilling adventures with purpose. Janet Ries will provide the music and Abby Schauer a Park Ranger with the Missouri National Recreational River will be talking about the history and the purpose of the National Park Service. The cost is $15, and reservations are required. Reservations need to be made by April 13rd by calling 402-254-2102.

  • April 15 (Reserve by April 9)

    The next Norfolk Women’s Connection meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 15th at the Norfolk Country Club. Brenda Vermeire of Yankton, South Dakota will be the main speaker sharing her message, “Letting Go of the Wheel”. Brenda has lived a life of adventure driving demolition cars, flying a plane, and swimming with sharks! Now she mentors children as an advocate for children in court, and shares Christ in rescue missions. Jill McElhose of Pierce, Nebraska will lead the music, and Paula Alder, of Norfolk will give the special feature. Reservations are needed by Wednesday, April 9th.   • April 16 and 18

    The 5th and 6th grade students at St. Mary’s Catholic School in O’Neill will be performing their annual ‘Passion Play’ during Holy Week. They will be acting out the moments leading to the death and resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. The play will be performed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill on Wednesday, April 16th at 7 p.m. and Good Friday, April 18th at 3 p.m. (the time Jesus died on the cross).

    St. Patrick’s is located on the corner of 4th and Benton in O’Neill, NE.

  • April 18

    A Messiah in the Passover presentation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18th at the Trotter Event Center in Ord. Doors open at 5:30. The event will show what Jesus, and his Disciples experienced during the last supper. Seating is limited, and you can register for this event at 47vcma.wixsite.com/vcma. Tickets are $20 and include the presentation and a meal. It is sponsored by the Valley County Ministerial Association.

  • April 18

    Calvary Baptist Church in Yankton will offer a presentation called ‘Christ in the Passover’ on Good Friday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. This powerful presentation, shared by Avi Snyder from Jews for Jesus, will demonstrate the link between the Jewish feast of Passover and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples. ‘Christ in the Passover’ will give an explanation of the beautiful symbolism of the Jewish ceremony called a seder. The presentation weaves the story of the exodus and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. The words “do this in remembrance of me” will take on a deeper meaning to Christians as you learn the significance of the tradition Jesus observed the night before He died and gave us a closer look at the Jewish life He led. Jewish or not, religious or not — all are welcome at Yankton’s Calvary Baptist Church for this unforgettable, thought-provoking experience.   • April 19

    Restore Church in Yankton, South Dakota will host two Easter Egg Hunts this year on Saturday, April 19th at their Kids Campus. An Easter Egg Hunt for families with special needs children will be at 10:00 AM, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt at 11:00 AM for all families with children 12 years and younger. The special needs egg hunt will have accommodations for children with special needs, including a sensory friendly environment, toys instead of candy and adaptive egg hunting. Both Easter egg hunts will have a variety of prizes! Restore Church’s Kids Campus is located at 607 East 15th Street in Yankton, South Dakota.

  • April 19

    The Great Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the O’Neill Assembly of God Church will take place at the Schaffer Ball Fields north of O’Neill on Saturday, April 19th at 11:00 AM. Kids ages 0 to 10 are invited to come hunt for eggs filled with candy and prizes. Any questions can be directed to the church at 402-336-2272.

  • April 22 & 24

    MercyMe is giving you the chance to be part of a special scene for the upcoming sequel to their movie ‘I Can Only Imagine.’ MercyMe will be live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Tuesday, April 22nd, and along with the concert, they will be filming a scene for ‘I Can Only Imagine 2’.     MercyMe Live 2025 is coming to Lincoln, Nebraska on Thursday, April 24th, 2025. The concert features Zach Williams and special guest Sam Wesley (son of Bart Millard, lead singer of MercyMe), and takes place at Pinnacle Bank Arena at 7:00 p.m. More information can be found at MercyMe.org.

  • April 25-27

    A Rachel’s Vineyard Healing Retreat will help those who have suffered the effects of abortion to find God’s forgiving love and hope for the future.   • April 26

    The youth at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond will be having a drive through Windsor Loin Dinner from five until seven on Saturday April 26th. The meal includes Windsor Loin, potatoes, green beans and a layered dessert. The cost is $12. All proceeds will benefit the youth who will be attending the National Youth Convention in New Orleans this summer.

  • April 27

    There will be a free youth worship event at Word of Life Church in Columbus, Nebraska on Sunday, April 27th from 6:30 until 8:00 PM. The worship event will feature Jeff Deyo and his band. Jeff is a pastor, worship leader, author, songwriter, and speaker. He is known internationally as the former lead singer of the Grammy-nominated, Dove Award-winning group, Sonicflood and lives to help people of all ages and cultures grow closer to God. All local youth are invited to come be a part of this free worship event. Word of Life Church is located at 3701 23rd Street in Columbus, Nebraska.

  • April 27

    The country group South of Mason, formerly know at Texas Star will be coming back the Prairie View Gospel Barn in Gregory, South Dakota. The concert will be held at three p.m. on Sunday afternoon, April 27th. Doors open at two. South of Mason is a crowd favorite providing a great country sound. They sold out the barn the last time they were in town. Advance tickets are $25 and are available by calling Geoff at 605-830-1545. They are also available at BankWest in Gregory. Children ten and under will be admitted for free. Limited concessions will be available.

  • April 29

    The National Weather Service will hold an advanced storm spotter training and safety class at 6:00 p.m. on April 29th in Norfolk. Participants will learn about severe weather ingredients and outlooks, radar interpretation and storm safety. There is no cost to attend, and registration is required. More information is available at weather.gov/oax/spotter. It is recommended that participants complete the basic storm spotter course before taking this class.

  • May 1

    A National Day of Prayer service will be held at seven p.m. on Thursday, May 1 at the Victory Road Evangelical Free Church in Norfolk. The service will include a time of music and pray for our community and nation. For more information visit victoryefc.com or call 402-379-1338.

    A men’s bible study will take place at 9:00 AM every first Saturday of the month at Teal’s Westside Diner in O’Neill, Nebraska. This study is for high schoolers on up and men from every denomination or those seeking Christ. Any questions can be directed to Pastor Bob at 402-340-2447.

    The 21st annual Christian Cross Festival is taking place in Norfolk, Nebraska on Saturday, June 7th! The FREE festival will feature Joseph O’Brien, Haley Jones, Sean Rodriguez, Sioux Falls native Cade Thompson, Colton Dixon, and headliner Mac Powell. David Nasser will be the speaker. Food vendors, tent camping, and other activities will take place, including a fireworks show to end the night. Festival volunteers are appreciated.     The 3rd annual ‘Faith and Family Night at the Dixon County Fair’ is taking place in Concord, Nebraska on Saturday, July 12th. The concert will feature the returning family band Zellmer Family Ministries and the Irish band Rend Collective.     The FREE Christian music festival LifeLight Hills Alive is returning to Rapid City July 19th and 20th for its 40th anniversary! So far, Saturday’s lineup includes Megan Danielle, Stephen Stanley, Austin French, Unspoken, and Sidewalk Prophets. Sunday’s performers include Eli Gable, Emerson Day, LO CLOUD (featuring former members of Sanctus Real and Kutless), Rhett Walker, and Crowder. The weekend-long festival in Rapid City’s Memorial Park seeks to share the Gospel and strengthen faith. It will also feature family-friendly activities, a variety of food vendors, and more!     LifeLight Sioux Falls is returning to Nelson Park in Sioux Falls on Sunday, August 31st! The FREE Christian music festival will feature We The Kingdom, Anne Wilson, Ben Fuller, Tenth Avenue North, Sioux Falls native Cade Thompson, Hulvey, and Josh Brewer.     CAIN is bringing their Live And In Color tour to the Lincoln Berean Church in Lincoln, Nebraska on Sunday, October 19th. The tour will also include performances by Jon Reddick and Caleb & John, and speaker, author, and podcaster Annie F. Downs will be the host.   • Ongoing Fridays

    The Clothing Closet, located at the First Christian Church in Burwell, Nebraska, is open every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome and all clothing is free. Clothing donations are also appreciated, and in-kind donations are encouraged. They also have a diaper program and offer help to foster parents.
